Relay

A relay route sends the connection to a suitable entry point first, then forwards it through an intermediate location to the target region. Its purpose is to avoid an unfavorable direct path and create a better combination between entry and exit. For cross-continent access, relays can often balance regional choice with everyday stability.

Relay routes suit streaming, AI tools, regular office work, and extended browsing. When the target service is in North America or Europe but the direct path from your network to the target city is unstable, try a nearby entry point and let the relay route reach the required exit. The city in a route name usually indicates the final exit, so do not judge it only by entry-point distance.

Because a relay adds a routing segment, the experience depends on both the entry and exit states. When the connection changes, do not jump repeatedly between entirely different regions. Keep the target city fixed and compare relay and direct routes in the same region first; this usually makes the cause easier to identify.

DIRECT PATH

A direct route goes from the current network straight to the target exit without an additional access relay. The goal is to complete the task, not to favor one fixed type.

Direct routes depend more on the public path between the current network provider and the target region. The same city may perform differently across networks and times of day. For everyday use, keep a small set of familiar routes rather than switching randomly each time. One regular entry point plus a relay in the same region as backup covers most situations. Switch temporarily to the relevant exit when you need content from a specific country.

For streaming, start with content licensing regions. Choose a United States exit for US content and a Japan exit for Japanese content; the city is usually secondary.
